CSC Hosting F License Course
June 21 and 23, 2012

The Cranford Soccer Club will be hosting an F License course in Cranford at the end of June (21st / 23rd). Instruction will be provided by a NJ Youth Soccer certified instructor. For the next week, we have our own private link (see below) to enroll as many coaches as we’d like. After that, the link goes out to the general public.

Please spread the word to get in on the opportunity to get your F license which, as you may be aware, is required for coaching Travel and IC teams and provides a good base of knowledge of soccer, safety, and coaching children.

Fall 12' / Spring 13' Programs

Dear Parents:

As we continue in our efforts to make a difference we hope that you will use this information to make a well-informed decision about the value of our program.  We continue to believe that our programs offer a high quality value for the price.

Each year, the Board establishes the player registration fee which covers some or all costs associated with weekly professional training and/or coaching, field and equipment maintenance, game day referees, player registration, fees to the state soccer leagues, reimbursement for continuing education & training for coaches, and insurance policies.

To negotiate the best overall pricing and to establish the baseline-training model we accepted proposals and bids from USA Sports Group and Dutch Total Soccer (aka Soccer Centers).  The board has decided starting fall 2012 that our primary preferred partner will be USA Sports Group as we believe that they have demonstrated the highest-level commitment to the club and to our teams in aligning with our intention to provide consistent and equal training across all divisions.

Professional training provides a level of soccer knowledge and expertise, which parent coaches simply cannot provide, and more effectively facilitates the best short and long term player development.

This change will require a higher club registration fee.  The club registration fees will provide the structure for CSC teams to utilize paid professional trainers throughout the year. For many teams/divisions this won’t create any additional expense as many teams are already paying for additional training. For some teams/division this will come as a welcome change as many families have expressed interest in obtaining additional professional training.  For the rest, we hope that you see the value as we do and we encourage you to seek out and speak with parents with players currently being led by a professional trainer.

Properly certified and CSC approved parent head coaches and managers will continue to be utilized to coach and manage the teams. The trainers run the training practices with coaches continuing to attend and assist in all training sessions.

It is not our intention to eliminate the role of the parent head coach; but, to refine the line between the parent head coach and the professional trainer.  Together the parent head coach and the Board will continuously monitor the professional trainer to assure that the paid trainer meets the Board’s expectations.

To clarify, the role of each individual is as follows:
Professional Trainer – To develop the players and team on the field through practices.
Certified Parent Head Coach – The parent coach is a parent volunteer approved by the division VP and CSC board. The parent coach is responsible for all coaching decisions during regular season. The  parent coach is in charge of the team from the time they walk on the field until they walk off the field. The parent coach is responsible for leading the team including parent interactions. The parent coach is responsible for coordinating and providing direction until the trainer is on the field for practice.
